Joel has a BA from Augustana College in Business and in Mathematics, and an MS from Western Illinois University.  He owned and operated his own insurance business for 8 years. The process of starting a business from ground zero and concluding with a successful exit strategy is exactly the type of information that the IL SBDC clients are seeking.  In addition, he has 6 years of banking experience in the Quad Cities and 5 years as a consultant with MidAmerican Energy, which helps when advising small business owners about lender presentations and business decisions.

Community & Economic Development Educator, University of Illinois Extension - Henry, Mercer, Rock Island & Stark Counties

Russell is a community and economic development professional with an M.S. degree in Urban and Regional Planning and 18+ years in the economic development and planning fields. He previously served as the Executive Director of the Kewanee Economic Development Corporation since 2009.  Russell will work on issues critical to our local community including facilitating collaborative community-based efforts, skills training, and project management.

City Administrator of the City of Galva since March of 2005, Dyer received his degree in Government and Politics from the University of Texas and is accredited by the Center for State Policy and Leadership at the University of Illinois as a Certified Public Manager.

Director, Henry County Economic Development Partnership 

 

Kathleen works with businesses and municipalities throughout Henry County to assist in development, identifying financing opportunities, creating synergies with other businesses and staying current with laws and regulations that may have an impact on growth opportunities. She is completing the third year of the Midwest Community Development Institute.

 

She is the president of the Geneseo Park District, involved with the Foundation Development Board of Hammond Henry Hospital and on the board of the Seth Ernst Memorial Soccer tournament.  She holds her BS from Northern Illinois University and an MBA from University of Houston.

Director, Stark County Economic Development

Denny has a wide range of experience in economic development. He served on the governing board of the Rural Coalition Development in the Peoria area. He is a member of the Stark/Henry Economic Development network. He serves on the volunteer fundraiser board for Kewanee Hospital. He is a member  the Wyoming Il, Illinois, Chambers of Commerce. He attended the Midwest Community Development Institute. And, he is active in several area programs that plan and provide opportunities for young people.
